RSVP to our shoot here! (It’s super helpful. You can change it later by saving the link it gives you at the end, so RSVP as soon as you can!)
News:
Otakon’s Cosplay Coordination (OCC) department would like to see more responses in our Cosplay.com thread to show there is interest. They are concerned because there were more replies last year, and almost none yet this year besides mine. Please reply to our thread if you’re interested in this shoot! (Even if you already completed an RSVP form. Both are important now. Thank you!) See update below
I am currently talking with OCC about a shoot conflict. If this affects our shoots, I will let you know when I can. Please stay tuned.
See my #Otakon 2014 photoshoot info tag for previously-posted info about these shoots.

News update
Everything in the previous post has been worked out!
The cosplay.com thread in particular isn’t actually a huge deal to staff since we have activity elsewhere. I was mistaken. (But it is still a nice place to go for discussion! Definitely RSVP though!)
The shoot conflict has been solved and will not affect our shoots.
We are now tossing around ideas for post-shoot hangout fun! Stay tuned!

So has anybody determined the probability of Tumblr asks being eaten?

I mean the site users are certainly well aware that sending an ask on Tumblr does not guarantee that the intended recipient will get it, bit what’s the number for that? 1 in 100? 1 in 1000?

Maybe if we had a number, we could spread that info around so Tumblr might actually address it maybe.

Just sayin’.

(reblogging because I have more to add to my reply)

I got 4 of my asks (with no ellipses) confirmed eaten within the same couple days recently. I can send you the messages for science.

Also, Tumblr user thorhugs said they contacted staff, and staff was aware of the ellipsis problem and isn’t saying/doing anything about it.

I’ve also heard from a different Tumblr user that Tumblr silently filters and deletes asks it thinks might be spam (sneaky links or whatever), so that might be a factor too. It would be nicer to have a spam folder than have them disappear into the void…

One last thing I thought at first might be a factor is that I heard Tumblr staff “shadowbans” people (or at least cuts them off from public speech) they’ve gotten too many complaints from - but those people are blocked from typing in the askbox in the first place, so that’s no ask-eating mystery there.

Discuss/check for updates: Cosplay.com thread (or follow me here for now if you want - I don’t post a lot)
Cosplayers and fans of all Valve games are welcome to attend!**If you are a Dota 2 fan, please check back in our Valve thread / the Dota 2 thread for confirmation on whether Dota 2 will be joining us or making any other plans, as plans are not yet finalized as of posting (July 3rd).**
New this year: This year, the locations we have booked are under official Otakon regulation, so their staff will help direct traffic and keep time, clearing out areas 5 minutes before the next group is to arrive. Our shoots are booked for 2 hours this year, compared to 1.5 hours last year. (Please RSVP so that we can assure Otakon we indeed have a big group, as other gatherings are vying for our time slots.)
How things roll: We’ve always had a large crowd, so we have to hold to somewhat strict pacing. The more obvious/important group shots come first, and after those are finished we can take requests and sillier shots. Since our TF2 cosplay group is traditionally the biggest, we usually shoot the other games first so they are free to leave, and then we spend the rest of the time on TF2. If I can get a good estimate of attendance (RSVP!), I am considering allowing the TF2 group to arrive slightly later so they don’t have to wait as long for the other groups. Check back for updates in our thread here or on my Tumblr.
Leadership: I will be coordinating the shoots this year to the best of my ability with the help of CatBountry and HunterV. If you are attending these gatherings and have any experience directing shoots or are otherwise interested in helping out, please reply in our thread or send me an ask (If I don’t reply to an ask within a couple days, email my username at ymail.com, as Tumblr has been known to eat asks). I hope to use the data from the RSVP survey to help divvy up the time available between groups in advance.
Spread the word, maybe print some extra flyers for unaware Valve cosplayers you meet there, and I hope to see you there! (I will be cosplaying BLU Medic w/ Medigun again. [x])
If you need to contact me real quick before or even during the con, try emailing my username at ymail.com. I should get browser/phone notifications and will check when I can.

Realized this after waking up at 4 AM for no reason.

(Also realized the official Meet the Spy video was not captioned…)

the golden age

SO APPARENTLY WHEN I WAS A LITTLE KID I SAVED THE SPRINKLES OFF THE POKEMON POP-TARTS TO CHERISH FOREVER (Probably more likely to “feed” my Pokemon figures)

They weren’t even in this Ziploc bag when I found them. They were tucked away in the secret inner pocket of the bag I used to transport my Pokemon figures to and from my friend’s house (We played with those instead of Barbies - I swear they had marriages and all sorts of drama).

Apparently there are also PowerPuff Girls Pop-Tarts sprinkles in there too.

I figured out how to do this thingie. Fixed up the mobile description formatting while I was at it.
